The Gems Of Abbotsford
We love farm-to-table concepts and where else would you expect fresh natural artisan food more than at the place where it grows? The historic downtown of Abbotsford became one of our favourite places to hang out for a delicious brunch, an afternoon in a café or a little stroll for mindfully handcrafted bits and pieces.
We absolutely agree on co-owner Spencer’s thought “the simplest foods happen to be the most delicious”! The smart concept Bread + Butter + Eggs makes total sense when you see the fantastic menu at Little Brother. And holy moly, it is delicious indeed! We got the Bacon + Eggs Tartine as well as the Bread + Butter with the Midnight Sausage. It is a truly gathering of artisan ingredients in its best combination. Also we can never stop ourselves for a sweet dish, so we decided for the Brioche Pain Perdu. Yummy! On top of the food, the space is also simple, bright and comfy. We can promise after a brunch at Little Brother you’ll be guaranteed perfectly happy!
The motto “trends may be fleeting but classic style is timeless” is truly lived by the three owners of this beautiful store. In 2012 Jessica, Monica and Lily created a “home for local items with a maker-story behind them alongside eclectic vintage finds and quality goods that will stand the test of time.” We love this concept and could stroll endless through the different sections of this store. It’s hard to leave without a little treasure in your hand! A must visit in Abbotsford!
Duft & Co. Bakehouse
Even after a fulfilling brunch we couldn’t resist the selection of baked goods at Duft & Co. Bakehouse. The owners Tyler and Cassandra got their inspiration from a six month trek throughout Europe and brought the eclectic craftsmanship to Abbotsford. Natural ingredients and artisanal talent bring up deliciously classics like Croissants, Danishs or Cinnamon Buns at its best. If we could, we would do as the locals - who are hard to miss with the black boxes in their hands - and catch a little treat every single day! We also love the modern bright atmosphere with some cute countryside details. Well done Tyler and Cassandra!
